For your perusal.

Today, my lecturer told us that no one uses the term 'for your perusal' anymore.
That liar.

I do, okay. And so does...

Well, never mind. Skizzy knows who I'm talking about.

Anyways, for your perusal, I got yet another gift and card yesterday. This time around, it's from my lecturer cousin and his family.

If you know me, I am quite a pain when it comes to opening presents. I peel the cellophane tapes off so slowly and carefully to the point a snail moves faster than that. I'm trying to save trees, thank you!

-.-' As if the wrapper wasn't enough, there has to be a box. Let's see what's in it.

OMG. GOLD HEART-SHAPED EARRINGS. So pretty!

Okay, I know I said I didn't like gold things, but this has a hint of silver in it. So, it's entirely fine.

My niece handmade my card. So sweet, I tell you.

She spelt my name with an extra 'E', haha. The only other person who does that is my good friend, the concerned alcoholic.

"Why did you write 'have fun eating carrots' here?"
"You were born in the year of the rabbit right? And rabbits eat carrots"
"Ah...I see"

I am such a stupid person, okay. Don't judge me.

Thank you to my cousin and his family for the gift. I love it.

My trip to see my thesis supervisor proved to be fruitful. She was incredibly nice and supportive and to think I was afraid of her! I have to meet her again in another two weeks' time, which gives me some ample time to carefully write out my proposal =)

And oh, I'll be away for a week or so. Assignments and midterms galore...just in case you DO miss me.

Oh yeah, you know you saw it coming.

Wish me luck!

Your laugh intoxicating.

I cannot stop laughing.

I'll explain later. It's just too funny.

*****
I was out in Subang yesterday with my relatives. At about 6PM, the nephews and nieces wanted to go to the park. My cousin asked me to come along and I did since I was going to be alone at home while the parents were discussing politics with my cousin's husband and his father.

You know how I hate politics.

So...the five of them (plus one of my nieces' friend) played football.

And my cousin brilliantly suggested that I go join them. A 20-year-old playing football with kids aged 8 to 15. I felt so out of place.

Trust me, it's been a while since I last kicked a ball. The worst part was that I wasn't dressed for the occassion (I was wearing sandals and jeans that were falling off!) so I ran around the field barefooted (My nephew, K, looked at me and said "You look like a supermodel playing football". Hahaha!).

So, I was the goalkeeper at first and everyone knows I can't be the goalkeeper.

So I switched to being a midfielder.

I scored a goal soon after.

I guess you could say I was back?

I was having fun, barefooted and sweaty, albeit one of my nephews accidentally kicked my foot. I played on anyway.

It ended up in a draw. I had fun eventhough my niece's friend was kind of mad because I was sort of siding the boys' side, which was actually me trying to play fair.

I don't pick sides. I am fair to everyone. I don't even give face to my own team.

But I seriously had fun. Ever since I injured my knee, I've stopped playing with my neighbours.

That's how boring I've become.

K is so adorable. He's 15 and he is a Chelsea fan too, so we were talking about 'the day we could have won in Moscow' and other random things like "How ugly is Chelsea's away kit?".

On the way home, we saw this car decked in ManUre stickers.

I looked at him and said "This car needs to be scratched". He just laughed and said yes.

It's okay to corrupt kids into being vandals especially if he's a Chelsea fan.

My 8-year-old nephew, P, is so adorable too.
"How many goals did you score?"
"None"
"Nine?"
"NONE!"

There's nothing like good times with family and good food.
I wouldn't change it for the world.

*****
If he decides to go into acting, he should start with Ugly Betty. OMG he could be Justin's best friend!

*slaps self*

BEHAVE, WOMAN!

Anyways...watch this. Too bloody hilarious.

To quote Christian Finnegan: EEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!

*falls off chair laughing*

Excuse my fangirly self. I need something to calm me down before I start studying for my midterms.

Yeah, everytime I talk to anyone, I'm always telling them I have exams.

See how boring I have become?

*****
Why in the name of hash browns didn't my mother take her handphone with her?!

I keep telling people they've got the wrong number when they're actually calling the right one!

People are going to be so annoyed with me.

Sorry to all the uncles and aunties who called, my mother forgot her phone and I don't know your numbers because they're not in her contacts list.

My mother owes me something. Something MASSIVE.

*****
Five things I want for my 21st:
01. A fedora.
02. A tattoo.
03. A plane ticket to Wisconsin/Los Angeles.
04. A kitten named Bruce.
05. Davidoff Cool Water for Women/YSL's Young Sexy Lovely EDT.

02 and 03 are not going to happen, as far as I can tell.

So yeah, I'm boring because I am not going to have an upscale birthday bash.

Sue me.

Slow down.

I nearly fell and hurt myself TWICE. Clumsy fool.

I had so much fun just now. That 2-year-old kid and her mad cousins cracked me up til my stomach was in stitches.

Three cups of coffee. Two apples. One happy kitty.

The weather makes you want to love how wonderful everything is.

It's days like today you just don't want to get out of bed, resulting in being tardy for appointments. Not so tardy, anyways.

I love you-lah, you stupid Scouser who'd do drummer boys. Thank you for being such a fantastic constant. Even if you make fun of my choice in men or say things like "Don't make me yank your pants".

I wish life had a pause button, just so I can savour beautiful moments like today.

The mother said I've been a good girl for eating my apples.
I am craving for thosai quite honestly.

There's nothing like a night of rock songs and boys playing the guitar to cheer up a little kitty.

And...I need a break. From this and everything.

If I don't update for the next couple of days, it means I'm hiding or I'm too busy.

Just in case you miss me...

Rugby's Ant and Dec...HAHAHA!

"He looks Chinese!"

I hate that I love you, woman.

Of mafia bosses, birthdays, and shiny things.

First off, apparently, I am NOT delusional. Seriously.

The father got a little too generous and bought me a white gold ring.

o.O

0.0

And when I kept lamenting on how pretty the shiny things were and how I can't afford them, his reply threw me off the chair. I am NOT lying.
"When your turn comes, I will buy for you, okay. You don't worry"

He is scaring me. I think he caught a flu bug or something and that's affecting his decision-making skills.

I am officially scared.

*****
I went to this funky 21st birthday party last night. Funky in the sense that the birthday boy looks like a mafia rempit king. Yeah-lah, I'm evil. What to do?

The entertainment was pretty funky too but loud. It was fun seeing the kids dancing. Haha.

And though there was alcohol, I didn't consume any because I'm good and I have a wonky tummy.

I told the mother that when the 21st arrives, let me get drunk.

Best conversation of the night.
"How old are you?"
"19"
*think after 10 seconds*
"Oh no, I'm 20!"

Classic.

I met the whole big Sentul 'drinking clan' (in other words, the father's buddies) and their kids.

This girl is so adorable I almost wanted to take her home with me. She's still tiny, this Ruth.

Don't mess with this kid. Amber Chia in the making, okay.

*dies at the cuteness*
No, that isn't my hand.

HAHAHA! Her two front teeth are missing.

Yeah, yeah I know. The one decent pic I have with her is ruined by my hair. Tiny hands!

She's actually very adorable in real-life, it's just that I have a lousy camera phone. Haha.

"Don't cut your hair! Let it grow!" says uncle. Does he think I live in North Pole ah?!

She's awesomely photogenic. She kept tapping my hand and pointing at my phone. Vain. And she thinks she's pretty. Hahaha!

And she can talk now! *squeals*

Yes, I like cute little kids. Got a problem with that?

*****
*88th minute*
"NOW ONLY HE PUT TOMAS ON, WHAT'S HE GOING TO DO IN 4 MINUTES?"
"Eh anything can happen, you know"
*sees him score*
"OMG HE SCORED!"
*gets text message from Scouser*
"Oi, shut up-lah! I can hear you from my brother's house!"

Liar, his house is in TTDI. Bloody far away from my house. I love you long time, you nutcase. You just know me. And boo to Nicky being sent off.

Sigh. Such a silly boy.

Am NOT commenting about Chelsea. NOT COMMENTING.

The gayboy missed a penalty.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

(sorry mate, you know I hate him)

See you happy people soon. Will be away tomorrow. Big day-lah.

P/S: I swear Stevie G is starting to look like Xabi and it scares me. I'm going blind.

Last night...

was wicked!
I laughed so much, I lost my voice and cried.

Someone was so excited with the prospects of Liverpool having hope, she forgot her promise.
Hmmph.

Oh by the way, we've qualified =p

*****
Yesterday was a minor disappointment. Apart from the fact I blew my chance over him (He didn't show up! So it isn't exactly my fault!), the whole day was good.

I took loads of pics with the kids!

And I managed to swim without drowning. This one only really like dolphin. Hahaha!

So have fun with the pics.

HAHAHAHAHA! I'm polite! =p

Wai Lon.

The younger kids.

Uncle Lim teaching Kevin how to breathe underwater.

He taught me how to swim and said I made good progress. Very good progress.

Faisal. Narcissist. More on that later.

These younger kids are vain!

All of them wanted to take their own pics.

The one wearing spectacles told me
"Kakak, saya selesema la". OMG, damn cute!

So, being the responsible kakak that I am, I told her "Balik rumah nanti jangan lupa makan ubat ya?".

She nodded.

I swear my heart melted at the cuteness.

Athirah and a volunteer from the Masterskills College.

The younger kids with the volunteers from Masterskills College.

Me and Athirah. She was adjusting her seat next to mine so that she could take a photo with me.

I fed the children cakes. Responsible kakak, okay.
I can see you laughing from here, shut up!

Forrester and his art work. He's 28, by the way.

Nice, right? He likes dresses and had a copy of a fashion magazine and told me about the dresses he liked best. I was looking at the shoes. Hahaha.

Forrester and Wai Lon.

Stephanie acting shy and telling me that "It's a car".

Yonal, taken by Stephanie.

Sophia. She's the oldest here. 34, I think.

I swear this could be an awesome watch advert. Fernando Alonso's Tag Heuer ad can go to hell.

Uncle Raja, the van driver. Before we got back to the center, he told us "It's my birthday and they're having cake so before you get off the van, wish me". No one did. Hahahaha!

Stephanie and me.

Faisal and me. I don't know why I looked amused.
Look at where Faisal's hand is. 0.0

Group photo! Yes, I know, I'm vertically-challenged. Don't make fun of me-lah.

The girls and Stephanie and Wai Lon.

Faisal, me and Nini. I can't help but wonder why I looked so constipated.

The teachers, Leela and Bathma.

Me and Wai Lon.

Teacher Bathma and Mrs. Bala.

Overall, I love it here. I really enjoy the times I spent with the children.

There, I'm even throwing in a happy, narcissistic photo of myself as evidence of my happiness.

Toodles, people. My whole body is aching because of yesterday's swimming session.

I need to go for a body massage.

Enough love.

Okay, I nearly drowned on Thursday. I wasn't supposed to tell anyone. I didn't even tell my family, okay. I have nightmares when I go to sleep...but anyways I had fun, save the drowning part-lah obviously. So I'm taking time off to update with pics of the things that happened on Thursday and Friday.

Okay, but first, Lewis wants to say 'hello'.

HELLO THERE!
Yes, my photography skills suck. I should be sent to jail for this awful shot.

Let's proceed with the pics then, shall we? Credits go to Jason for these lovely pics.

THURSDAY.

This is were we volunteer every Thursday and Friday.

These two are Wai Lon (back) and Forrester. They're really sweet.

The one with the arm floats is Nini. The one in the white top is Mrs. Bala, one of the teachers at the center.

Xin Rou, why are you looking elsewhere!

Wai Lon and Xin Rou.

Eh, that's a dolphin! Me. That's Uncle Lim, one of the swim coaches there.

Dolphin Sakai trying to act graceful. Failed attempt.

This is Amanda, the center's president's daughter.

See the girl jumping into the water? That's Pei Yin.

She's really good. She loves to jump into the water, like a cannonball.

Happy Xin Rou and Pei Yin.

I went over to the kid's pool and just sat there for a while because I was tired. My arms are still aching until now.

Me, sitting...trying to think what's next.

This is Ting Wei.

FAT!!! =( Then I saw this girl. I remembered she likes splashing water on people. So I did just that.

You see that girl behind me? I was so happily splashing water on the other girl, and she gave me this death glare. Worse than the father's face when he's horribly pissed. Really scary, okay. She started saying words like 'menyibuk' and 'menyampah' at me while giving me THE death glare.

Okay-lah, I'm over-reacting, but see this. There were other people in the pool, but she chose to call me that. It hurts-lah, okay?

Plus, she was calling out for this boy. He went towards her but lost his grip on the ball and swam to get it. The ball was coming towards me so I passed it back to him and she said I was 'menyibuk'. The boy swam back to her and then she pushed the ball away =(

She gave me the death glare again. I got bloody pissed and went back to the adult pool again. I also can give you death glare-lah if I want. But for what? I don't get any kind of satisfaction from doing it. My satisfaction comes from helping people.

They were racing! They had many races and it was fun seeing them go.

Secretary! HAHAHAHA! OMG do you remember that joke? Then we came back and did some paperwork. That's Ali, another teacher at the center. Witty.

Then we went back home.

FRIDAY.
We continued doing some paperwork for the teachers. Since we were such good help, we were rewarded with tarts!

They were selling them at the Christmas bazaar they had in Crown Princess Hotel on Thursday. They sold it for RM 8 at the bazaar, and RM 6 yesterday. We got it for free *glee*

I wouldn't mind continuing my volunteering work there again. I don't want it to be a one-off thing. It gives me new things to learn about and lets me gain more experience when I plan to work next time. I like these kids, they teach me what it's like to be in their shoes. They are more normal than I am.

The staff are wonderful, so are the kids. I definitely wouldn't mind continuing there.

Xin Rou, you can copy the pics from here first if you want =)

Back to work, lazy bones!
